AND 71-year-old Vittorino Checchia diedarrested on September 14th as an alleged accomplice of Redouane Mosllithe 43-year-old Moroccan laborer confessed to the murder of the Foggia tobacconist, Franca Marasco.
Checchia had been hospitalized for days at Riuniti in Foggia where he died. The man was guarded by the prison police. Originally from Castelluccio Valmaggiore but domiciled in the Daunian capital, he was accused of complicity in murder but professed his innocence.
