Maxi trial against the ‘Ndrangheta moved from Vibo Valentia to Lamezia Terme

The lawyers of the Criminal Chamber of Vibo Valentia they proclaimed a state of agitation to protest against the decision of the Collegiate Court of Vibo to transfer the maxi-trial arising from the anti-mafia operations ‘Mistral-Carthago’, ‘Olympus’ and ‘Imperium’ from the bunker room of the new Court of Vibo to the bunker room of the industrial area of Lamezia Terme.

Previously the Court of Vibo – in a different composition – had instead considered that the maxi-trial should be celebrated in Vibo Valentia. «During the meeting, in addition to deciding on the state of unrest – the Criminal Chamber reports – it was decided to call a public meeting of the entire category, involving the Council of the Bar Association, inviting institutional representatives and the criminal chambers of the entire region. It was decided to also involve politicians who cannot remain silent on these issues which do not only involve professionals but an entire community which, even in this sector, is increasingly deprived of essential services. It was therefore reiterated that the problem is also political and politics must assume its responsibilities. It is unthinkable that such decisions are adopted without involving the category most involved in the matter.”
