The new federal Surfing Sports center directed by champion Andrea Papa is located in Montesilvano. Inaugurated yesterday in the presence of Mayor De Martinis
The new Surfing Sports Center of Andrea Papa, FIV coach, windsurfing champion and former water polo champion, president of the association, has been inaugurated in Montesilvano. With his experience, supported by his trusted instructors, in a few months he has set up a space made up of surfing and sailing dedicated to those who want to share sport and friendship, in a village atmosphere by the sea. The center is located in a part of the free beach between the Lo Smeraldo and Le Bahamas establishments and enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Montesilvano which welcomed Papa’s sports project with great enthusiasm.
“For us it is a great tourist resource – said the reconfirmed mayor Ottavio De Martinis – because Andrea brings his enormous experience to our territory which is also an added value from a social point of view for us”. The city councilor and former Sports Councilor Alessandro Pompei is also convinced of this and underlined Pope’s tenacity and firmness in carrying out this sporting activity for 38 years now, enthusing young people about water sports but above all about their love for the sea . The former councilor for State Property Daniela Renisi pointed out, together with the councilor Adriano Tocco, that the center is located right at the entrance to Montesilvano from Pescara and therefore represents its calling card.
After two days of Open Day, yesterday and today, the federal Center enters into full swing, bringing the kids forward in competitive windsurfing and SUP, opening the school gates to welcome new students and organizing national and international events which already this summer they will bring hundreds of athletes to Montesilvano. The instructors who support Andrea Papa are Rocco Del Proposto and Andrea Gratani for the
windsurfing, Nicola Masci for sup and Adriano Barone for sailing.
