The program of the Patronal Festival
It’s a countdown to the traditional Patronal Festival of the Santa Maria Stella Maris Parish of Fiumicino-Lido del Faro.
From 20 to 23 June, according to the program outlined by the parish priest P.Sergio De Angelis and the Celebrations Committee, devotional appointments to the Madonna Stella Maris and evenings of aggregation and shows will characterize the event, which has its roots since the 1950s .
Prologue to the Festival will be on Tuesday 18th, at 7.15pm, in the parish church, the Concert of Sacred Music proposed by the “Stella Maris Choir”, with the participation of the “Marvasi” Choir of Rome and the Chamber Choir of the International Academy of Music “Opera House” in Rome.
The solemn OPENING MASS, outdoors, will take place on Wednesday 19 June, at 8pm; This will be followed at 9pm by the TORCH PROCESSION which will pass through an area of the Parish district.
Prayer appointments in preparation for the Feast are scheduled from the 20th to the 22nd, always at 6pm. On Sunday 23rd, at the end of the 5.30pm Mass, the Sacred Image of the Madonna will once again go in SOLEMN PROCESSION along the streets and will then be embarked on a unit of the Port Authority of Rome on the Fossa Traianea (the navigable canal), for the blessing to the port, the city, the faithful and the fishermen. The musical accompaniment will be by the Fiumicino Pro Loco musical band.
Festively lit up, Via Giorgio Giorgis and Viale delle Meduse, where the stage will be positioned, will host the various moments of the Festival.

Thursday 20 June, at 9pm, we will screen the European Football Championship match where the national team will meet Spain, in an already decisive match. On this occasion, a large screen will be positioned where the whole community is invited to participate, cheer and taste good food through street food, with the sale of sandwiches, pizza, fried foods and pasta, all fresh and freshly prepared”.
“On the evening of Friday 21st we could applaud the approximately 100 children who will be protagonists of the dance show “Cose dell’altro mondo” of the Thru Ballet dance school – continues the Committee – On Saturday 22nd, at 9pm, the concert of Icarus, in a Tribute to Renato Zero.
On Sunday 23rd, at 9pm, the Luca Vicari & Anime Latine Band will be the protagonist with the concert dedicated to Lucio Battisti.
During the event there will be other moments of aggregation such as the 6th P. Alberico Papi Memorial cycle rally (Thursday 20th at 6.15pm, prizes for all participants), the rides inside the parish field, a market managed by the Fiere & Events, the Charity Fishing organized by the Scouts and the sale of Lottery tickets will continue with 1st Prize a holiday for two people in Sardinia and 9 other gifts at the price of €1.00.
