SASSARI – The 29th “Città di Sassari” has once again confirmed its reputation as one of the most prestigious and anticipated events in the panorama of international Olympic wrestling. At the end of the day’s competition for the Seniors, Italy achieved the team victory, confirming the excellent form of the delegation in view of the next important international events. Moldova took second place, while Canada took third place.

Moving on to the individual matches, in the Greco-Roman event, Luca Svaicari offered a great performance in the 97 kg, prevailing over his compatriot Riccardo Bufis. The final in the Greco-Roman “colossi” category, the 130 kg, was nothing short of spectacular, with the Kazakh Bairam Nabiyev and the Moroccan Oussama Assad facing each other in an exciting duel, which the latter won. In the free style, the most exciting final was that of the 65 kg, where the Belgian Ylias Abdurashidov overtook the Moldovan Sergiu Lupascu only in the final thanks to an amazing action. In the 92 kg category, Iranian Kamran Ghasempour achieved a landslide victory against Moldovan Ivan Ichzli, demonstrating his clear superiority.

The next appointment is set for tomorrow at the Club Ancora in Stintino, where the “Sardinia” International Beach Wrestling Tournament will be held.
