PALERMO – The words they often repeat are “forgotten” and “excluded”. They do it even now that they see the stands of an event set up all the way to Palazzo Comitini.
Nothing against the festival, which is a private initiative. On the contrary: they would have liked the sheds to also reach the lower part of Via Maqueda, the one near the central station.

The “United for the neighborhood” committee was born this year. Torchlight processions, collection of signatures, meetings with representatives of the institutions. On many occasions they raised the safety alarm especially for drug dealing and the illegal sale of alcohol.
“The Municipality needs to organize events and manifestations also in the lower part of Via Maqueda – explain the residents – or authorize private ones and ask that they extend across the entire street”.
“Only by making the people of Palermo and tourists discover that Via Maqueda does not end at the Quattro Canti degradation will be defeated”, they conclude.
