PERUGIA

There is no peace in Pian di Massiano. Every summer there is a hot topic on the agenda. A year ago, after the painful relegation, Perugia was first the protagonist of the dispute with Lecco for a place in Serie B, then of negotiations with phantom buyers who over time disappeared without a trace. This year here we go again: the sale of the red and white club is once again at stake, with president Santopadre who in the meantime has worked to write off the club’s debts through debt restructuring. A key passage that has yet to be concluded with the approval of the court, expected by the end of June. And that could return an almost “healthy” company, given that the debts should remain at around two million deferred over ten years. In the meantime, however, unlike a year ago, Santopadre’s interlocutors are known: Claudio Sciurpa, together with other entrepreneurs (including Central Energy of the Antonini brothers) has publicly expressed his interest and would also have made his offer to the president Holy Father. An offer that will certainly be evaluated by the number one of the company who, however, before taking any steps, is waiting for everything to be in order with the cancellation of the debt. Will it be an adequate and suitable offer? Or even, will it be considered adequate by the Grifo president? What is certain is that the president will have to make the reflection, especially in light of the difficult climate that has been created around the Pian di Massiano property. The parties, Santopadre and Sciurpa, are now more distant: the red and white main sponsor, in fact, was not present at the day dedicated to Grifo’s partners, given the ongoing negotiations. Furthermore, the new corporate situation would also have attracted other entrepreneurs: there would, in fact, be a new group (non-Umbrian, made up of three entrepreneurs) who would be working to present a formal offer to the club. In intentions it would be a strong group, but then there is always the next step: that of the official offer and guarantees.
