The Sienese hospital-university company joins the Open day organized by the Onda Foundation, scheduled throughout Italy on Wednesday 19 June. Reservations in progress from Wednesday 12 June at the Santa Maria alle Scotte hospital which, together with 159 other facilities in the Pink Stickers network, joins the initiative by offering clinical, diagnostic and information services, free of charge, in numerous specialist areas. In particular, in Siena (the Aou Senese has three pink Onda stickers which make it a hospital of excellence alongside women), the protagonists of the event are the operational units: Internal and complexity medicine, directed by Professor Luigi Gennari; Psychology, directed by Dr. Assunta Basile; Dietetics and clinical nutrition, directed by Dr. Barbara Paolini; Medically assisted procreation, directed by Professor Giuseppe Morgante; Medical oncology, directed by Dr. Roberto Petrioli; Dermatology, directed by Professor Pietro Rubegni; Infectious and tropical diseases, directed by Professor Mario Tumbarello; Prenatal diagnosis and obstetrics, directed by Professor Filiberto Maria Severi. In Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition, in lot 1 floor -1 (clinic 7/A) and in lot 1 floor 5, dietary consultations for weight control in the prevention of female cancers will be held from 2pm to 6pm. In medically assisted procreation, on lot 5 floor -3, gynecological visits with ultrasound and counseling for couple infertility will be carried out from 11am to 2pm and from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. In Medical Oncology, on lot 3 floor 0, consultations and interviews will be offered to women to provide early diagnoses and health education regarding the risk factors for breast, ovarian, uterine, lung, intestine, stomach and pancreatic cancers, from 3 pm :30 to 5.30pm. Reservations are mandatory and can be made from Monday to Thursday from 3pm to 6pm on 0577 586265.

In Dermatology, on lot 3 floor -2, dermatological visits will be held for the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, such as warts, candida, syphilis and gonorrhea, from 2pm to 4pm. Access is free.

In Infectious and Tropical Diseases, in lot 3 floor 2, in-person visits, consultations and interviews will be held in the field of prevention and management of infections during pregnancy, from 8.30 to 10.30. In Prenatal Diagnosis and Obstetrics, on lot 4 floor -5, obstetric consultations dedicated to breastfeeding will be held from 2pm to 4pm. Reservations are mandatory and can be made on 0577 586603 and 0577 586636, from Monday to Thursday from 7am :30am to 1.30pm and from 2pm to 6pm, on Fridays from 7.30am to 1.30pm, or by email to [email protected].

The Prenatal Diagnosis and Obstetrics Department will also carry out online interviews with pregnant women from 2pm to 6pm to address questions related to prevention and vaccinations. Reservations are mandatory and can be made on 0577 586603, from Monday to Thursday from 7.30am to 1.30pm and from 2pm to 6pm, on Friday from 7.30am to 1.30pm.

Finally, the Prenatal Diagnosis and Obstetrics department organizes telephone interviews with the midwife for breastfeeding, from 11am to 1pm. The interviews will be held by calling 0577 586636, after mandatory booking on 0577 586603, from Monday to Thursday from 7am: 30 to 1.30pm and from 2pm to 6pm, on Fridays from 7.30am to 1.30pm, or by email to [email protected].

Since 2007, the Onda Foundation has awarded the Pink Stickers recognition to hospitals that provide services dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the main female pathologies; the network supports Fondazione Onda in promoting, even within hospitals, a “gender” approach in the definition and strategic planning of clinical-care services, essential to guarantee the right to health not only of women but also of men.
