A2 M – Waterpolo Palermo starts its purchasing campaign well

After an extraordinary year closed with the stay in A2, Waterpolo Palermo begins its signing campaign well by communicating the agreement with Giacomo Calabresi, goalkeeper with Ortigia last year, born in 2001.

Giacomo will replace Gabriele Cuccia who has done well in the last two years, forced to move to the north for work reasons.

From Padua, very young and with plenty of determination, Giacomo Calabresi welcomed the club’s project with great enthusiasm, showing from the beginning a great desire to get involved and excel in a difficult championship like that of A2.

President Antonio Coglitore: “I am particularly happy with the arrival of Giacomo who has shown great desire and great courtesy, showing maturity and the desire to do well. We started our signing campaign the day after the victory which allowed us to remain in A2 to strengthen the team with a staff that focuses on the right mix of young people and experienced players. Over the years, this policy has allowed us to develop many young people who have then also found space in the higher categories. This year the president of Telimar Giliberti asked us to include our young national Francesco Pettonati in the roster and although Francesco constitutes a fundamental piece for our team, we gave our favorable opinion to allow a good and very mature young man like Francesco to grow in an A1 context. Claudio Mandalà, who acted as mother hen for our goalkeepers last year, will also go to Telimar to make a contribution with his experience. In the next few days we should close with other important players with whom we have been in negotiations for a couple of weeks, to arrive at a strong and compact group. Mario Raimondo is confirmed at the helm of the team.”
