Calabria Region present at the “Digital, AI and Tech

There Calabria region present at the 2024 edition of the International Fair and Festival on Digital Innovation: Digital, AI and Tech – We Make Future – held in Bologna from 13 to 15 June. A three days dedicated to the tourism sector and digital innovations, with the aim of encouraging business activities territorial marketing and promote Calabrian realities engaged in digital innovation in the tourism sector.

An event of great scope who recorded overand 70,000 attendeesinvolved 700 sponsors and exhibitors for more than 90 countries, 3,000 between open innovation and stakeholders and seen as protagonists on the various stages beyond 1,000 speakers from all over the world.

The main stage of the event welcomed musicians of great caliber over the three days, such as Manuel Agnelli, Gaia, Colapesce and Di Martino but also masters of Calabrian popular musical culture such as Mimmo Cavallaro And Santino Cardamonewho brought the great energy of traditional Calabrian music to the stage of the fair, making a sound of tarantella the many visitors present in the MainStage.

Three days, over one hundred events and a unique format which combined the Exhibition Area, Training, B2B Meetings, Networking, Culture, Concerts, Shows and Entertainment within the spaces of BolognaFiere. Present at the fair were national and international partners and companies, operators Calabrian tourist sectorcommitted to technological development and promotion through tourist itineraries and new innovative formats, to be offered to all those who choose Calabria as half for their holidays.

New experiences of virtual tripscharacterized by an ever-increasing involvement of digital tools, used to describe the peculiarities and characteristics of the different territories. The Calabrian realities are different innovative companies involved, who had the opportunity to present at the fair a Calabria projected towards the future, rich in new projects and innovative ideas: Pelagos – Museum of the Sea – Capo Rizzuto Marine Protected Area – EG Province of Crotone, Vision Space, Aliva Wood, Amal Italy, Municipality of Monasterace, Municipality of Gerace, Digital Communication Agency, Monasterace For Future, Protur Media, Calabria Excelsa – Museum Digital of Calabria.

From niche, dedicated tourist proposals to cultural tourist inclusionwith trips dedicated to tourism and the global Halal economy, to particular attention to environmental sustainability, to the many immersive augmented reality experiences, Calabria tells its story at the fair with experiences and proposals new and of great impact.

A different approach to the world of tourism useful for discovering new forms of travel and different ways of “living” in a historical moment in which the desire to explore new destinations is stronger than ever. The edition of the event for the year 2024 follows the previous ones, which from 2018 onwards saw protagonists different regions, bodies, actors, stakeholders and protagonists of innovations in the tourism sector.

“One training and promotion tool unique for Calabrian companies and innovative entities, a great networking opportunity between the protagonists of digital transformation and innovation in the shooting sector”, as underlined by the general manager of the Department of Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Mobility of the Calabria Region, Maria Antonella Cauteruccio.

One of the main objectives of the WMF, is to involve villages, small towns and cities in the innovation and digitalisation process of the country. At the Festival, local communities and territorial entities also had the opportunity this year to present your products/servicescoming into contact with citizens, bodies and institutions from all over Italy and the world, extending its network and creating new collaborations.

To be rediscovered, through technology support, social media, innovation linked to augmented reality and virtual tours, the villages, the parks, the coasts, the mountains and all the traditions and customs of the different places. The idea proposed by the Calabria Region which with a expression of interest invited its operators to participate in the fair, the general manager underlined: “It’s about taking visitors to explore unusual routessatisfying their desire for curiosity, making them breathe the true spirit of a territory and at the same time, thanks to technology, bonding with always new connectionsdifferent or distant territories from each other, through innovative tools and dedicated digital supports”.
