Umbria at the European Master Judo Championships

(UNWEB) The European master judo championship involving athletes over 30 in different age and weight categories has ended.

This year’s event took place in Bosnia Herzegovina, in Sarajevo, a city that in recent years has been showing great organizational capacity for international sporting events.

The four days of competitions (from 6 to 9 June) saw 800 athletes from 35 nations compete. The Italian delegation was led by the two coaches Giuseppe Macrì and Manuela Tadini and made up of 46 men and 13 women for a total of 59 athletes.

Also on the podium was Jacopo Desiderio from Terni, an athlete from the Polisportiva Ternana, which the Italia team fielded in the M2 category.

Overall, Italy ranks fifth in the medal table with 29 medals won. The technicians comment “A precious haul that confirms us among the best master nations in the international field, a great satisfaction for the boys, who manage to obtain stellar results with their commitment and passion. This super Team Italia has once again managed to heat up the heart and give unrepeatable emotions”.

For Jacopo Desiderio, the international experience concluded with great satisfaction and other possible commitments with the national masters team are on the horizon. Another great result also for the Polisportiva Ternana – Judo sector – which concludes the activity of this first semester with strong growth having established itself as a reference among the Umbrian teams and having achieved notable results with its athletes in the main national tournaments and championships.
