Livorno, 15 June 2024 – The countdown for the highly anticipated second edition of ‘Dinner on the Terrace’ (Mascagni), scheduled for Saturday 29 June. It will be entirely set up by the Livornesi Chefs Association, with a menu made with short supply chain local products. A further mark of quality and exclusivity. The location will be the splendid square overlooking the sea, or Terrazza Mascagni, which for the first 2023 edition brought together 250 guests at the table, who this year will arrive at 400 distributed in tables with 10 seats each.

The event was presented yesterday at the Confcommercio headquarters, in the presence of the Confcommercio provincial director Federico Pieragnoli, the president Francesca Marcucci and the Mayor Luca Salvetti, who praised the initiative and hoped for “its duration and consolidation in the years to come”. At their side was the delegation of sponsors: Generali Agenzia di Livorno in via Cairoli, Scotti Audi and Scotti VW, George Menaboni and Lavazza. This year too, the dinner is organized with the support of Vetrina Toscana, a project of the Region and Unioncamere Toscana, which promotes restaurants and shops that use local products, as well as actual producers. In fact, the wine that will be served will be from Tenuta Le Colonne di Donoratico, the artisanal pasta from Il Vallino di Cecina and the bread will be supplied by the Consorzio di Tutela Pane Toscano Dop and by Panificio Burgalassi, while the company I 3 Ponce will offer iced punch . The menu, developed by the Livornesi Chefs’ Association (represented yesterday by chef Carlo Rampone) will be based on “seafood panzanella pie with double-cooked octopus with Tuscan pecorino dop fondue, Roselline del Vallino with prawn sauce with their bisque and crispy bacon, monkfish in foil with cherry tomatoes, olives and capers, with potatoes and courgettes – explained Rampone – in a perfect combination of land and sea, in the spirit of Livorno tradition”.

But it doesn’t end here: because the ‘Dinner on the Mascagni Terrace’ will also be linked to another iconic event for Livorno: “Same location, same coincidence with the Palio Marinaro to enhance the history of rowing competitions with the beauty of Livorno and the food and wine tradition” announced Francesca Marcucci. Finally, the Livorno Chefs Association recalled “the logistical support with the Caritas Livorno Foundation which will make the cooking laboratory of the school of trades.
