This summer too, Ferrara is among the most sought after Italian cities in the musical field with the fifth edition of the Ferrara Summer Festival, a consolidated event organized and promoted by the Butterfly association. An event that is renewed every year and becomes increasingly varied and dynamic, in fact for the first time there will be an ‘extra date’ – Monday 14 October – with Luciano Ligabue at the Abbado municipal theater in Ferrara. Italian artists, emerging talents and big foreign talents will perform in the summer festival, from 20 June to 13 July 2024. There will be two locations, both within the 9km of walls that surround the heart of the city: Piazza Trento Trieste at the foot of the cathedral and Piazza Ariostea under the gaze of Ludovico Ariosto. It starts on Thursday 20 June with Benson Boone, the most listened to artist in the world, expected on stage in Piazza Trento Trieste with his ‘Beautiful Things’ which has reached dizzying numbers and has climbed all the world charts. The following evening, Friday 21 June, there will be a change of scenery with the ‘Deejay Time’ format in Piazza Trento Trieste with the first date of the summer tour, featuring hours of irresistible music from Articoli 31 to Max Pezzali, from Alexia to the group The Kolors. On Saturday 22 June, in Piazza Trento Trieste with the ‘Summer Vibez’ (it will also include 22 June and 2 July), we move on to electronic music with the French band AIR, a musical duo composed of Nicolas Godin and Jean Benoît Dunckel, who will bring the album ‘Moon Safari’ was performed live for the first time. Sunday 23 June change of direction with a younger audience, expected on the stage in Piazza Trento Trieste Tony Effe talented Italian rapper, Drillionaire and Anna. After a few days’ break, the event resumes on Wednesday 26 June with Annalisa (Piazza Trento Trieste), the artist among the 100 successful women in Italy (Forbes 2023) who with her music hits straight to the heart by lightly describing the passions and feelings. On Thursday 27 June, in Piazza Trento Trieste, the scenario will change again with the format ‘I want to go back to the 90s’ but the following evening in the same place, Friday 28 June, the musical event is scheduled with the ‘trance’ music of Markus Schulz , Paul Van Dik, Ali & Fila. On Sunday 30 June, in Piazza Trento Trieste we turn to love with Tommaso Paradiso’s ‘Tommy Summer Tour’ which returns to the Ferrara Summer Festival for the second time. On Tuesday 2 July, in Piazza Trento Trieste, Coez and Fra Quintale are expected with the ‘Lovebars Summer Tour’ for a fun-filled pop rap evening. We arrive at Thursday 4th July and also change location moving to Piazza Ariostea, the only Italian date (4th July) of the rock band Extreme plus HEAT and Eclipse. On Wednesday 5 July, with free entry in Piazza Ariostea, on the occasion of the ‘Pink Night of Ferrara’, the largest event that includes the best musical formats around arrives for the first time: ‘Lacrima Party’, ‘Mai dire Goku’, ‘ Life at 30’, ‘We Love 2000’ and ‘Tachicardia Party’. The event continues with Tedua (Piazza Ariostea) on 6 July and the following evening, the scenery changes again in Piazza Ariostea where Calcutta is expected. On 8 July we take a leap into the past with classic Italian music in Piazza Ariostea, waiting for the legendary group ‘Pooh’. On 11 July (Piazza Ariostea) an evening of rock, pop and Italian disco with the groups Faithful to the Line, Graznevada and Vasco Brondi. Friday 12th July (Piazza Ariostea) ‘Fitness Day’ on the occasion of the Fluo Run – the fitness and wellbeing festival which takes place in the evening – in a magical atmosphere full of energy and aimed at everyone, athletes and families. In addition to the appointment with music, 6 km are planned between the Estensi walls and the beautiful historic center of Ferrara among a thousand fluorescent lights.
