Airbus Helicopters presented today at its headquarters in Trento the first H160 helicopter delivered to the country.
The buyer is Air Corporate – launch customer of the H160 in Italy – which thus further consolidates its fleet.
The helicopter, the first of five H160s for Veronese Air Corporate, is part of an order of 43 Airbus helicopters announced during the 2023 edition of EBACE.

«We are very proud of the latest model in our fleet: with its 68 patents, the twin-engine H160 is in fact the new point of reference for style, performance, economic competitiveness, maintenance, safety and comfort with low environmental impact.
“As an ambassador of Airbus Helicopters’ transformation plan, the H160 sets new standards in the way helicopters are developed, produced and supported, and its versatility makes it suitable for a wide variety of missions,” – said Alexandre Ceccacci, General Manager Airbus Helicopters Italy.

The general director of Airbus Helicopter Italia Alexandre Ceccacci at a press conference.

A silent, safe and balanced helicopter: thanks to its Blue Edge® blades, the H160 has reduced perceived noise by 50% and its external dimensions allow safe take-off and landing.
Furthermore, by virtue of the lower weight in the «Lounge» configuration, it guarantees lower fuel consumption and is potentially set up for greater value retention thanks to the ease of reuse in a wide variety of missions.

«The delivery of the first H160 in Italy is also linked to another milestone for Airbus Helicopters Italia, that of having prepared the Trento center for all maintenance and repair activities for this model.
«The Trento MRO is in fact the only maintenance center in Italy and one of the three in Europe qualified to operate on Safran engines, and the specialization on H160 models today represents the flagship of our site», – concludes Ceccacci .

The modern version presented today is configured for six passengers with two armchairs and a four-person bench seat, but the helicopter is also available in an eight-passenger configuration, with two bench seats.
Another significant feature are the extremely large windows, typical of the H160, the airy cabin and the numerous cutting-edge technological features in the sector.

To date, the H160 has been ordered in more than 100 units and is present in many countries around the world.
It already has customers for different configurations such as Oil & Gas, Commercial Air Transport (CAT), Private and Business Aviation (PBA), Emergency Medical Transport (EMS), Public Services / Search and Rescue (SAR).

Spare parts that must always be replaced when they expire.

The commercial company for Italy is based in Verona, while the plant that deals with technical assistance and maintenance is based in Trento, near the Caproni Airport.
And the latter is no small company, because it employs 70 highly qualified people.
Maintenance is scheduled aircraft by aircraft. That is, some inconvenience is not expected to arise, but parts whose lifespan is established with a wide margin by the designer are replaced.

The Autonomous Province of Trento is also a customer of Airbus Helicopters. The last two helicopters purchased for the Trentino Fire Brigade and for the rescue technicians are two H145s.
They cost between six and eight million each, but they are fundamental for an area like Trentino which is highly suited to tourism.
The helicopter presented today, the H160, costs from 14 to 18 million depending on the use that the buyer will make of it and in particular on the number of seats for passengers.
