BRINDISI – The Brindisi city councilors of the 5 Star Movement, Roberto Fusco and Pierpaolo Strippoli, through a motion that will be filed in the next few days, ask the mayor of Brindisi to urgently reach a memorandum of understanding between the Municipality of Brindisi and the Navy Military of Brindisi so that, at certain hours of the day, the Swabian Castle of Federico II, which hosted the dinner offered by President Mattarella to the leaders of the G7, can be used from the first days of next July.

“Having hosted the leaders of the G7, with television coverage and press reports spread throughout the world, have given international visibility to the beautiful Swabian Castle of Brindisi, so it is necessary to make this Castle immediately accessible and visitable to all tourists who are visiting Puglia and, in particular, the city of Brindisi, as well as, obviously, the citizens of Brindisi”. It is stated in the note.

“The opportunity cannot be missed to give immediate continuity to the global media visibility that the Castle has acquired, by opening its doors and also making it a venue for temporary exhibitions and cultural events, obviously agreeing everything with the Navy. Also from the point of from an economic point of view, any costs incurred by the Municipality to achieve this result during the summer season would be amply repaid by the income that the said visit and usability would certainly ensure, as well as by the benefit that all the tourist and commercial operators of the city would derive from it”.
