Mille Miglia 2024, Vesco and Salvinelli expected in Brescia to decree another success

They won again, Andrea Vesco and Fabio Salvinelli. At the end of the tests, which continued again this morning on the fifth and final day of the Mille Miglia 2024 race, the Brescians are in the lead ahead of everyone and now they just have to bring the car to the finish line in Viale Venezia, where the first cars are expected at 1.30pm. Behind them Fontanella-Covelli and Aliverti-Valenteonly seventh Tonconogy and Ruffini who enjoyed the underdogs like the winners: it is their fourth consecutive success, aboard the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Ss Spider Z – 1929. For Vesco, it is the seventh Mille Miglia on the notice board: he won the first place in 2016, he only left the throne in 2018 to Tonconogy-Ruffini and in 2019 to Moceri-Bonetti.

After almost 2000 kilometers travelled, we have reached the final page of the forty-second re-enactment of the Red Arrow. The first city to host the final stage of the event was Ferraraa great classic of the 1000 Miglia: in Piazza Trento and Trieste a Stamp Check was held, after which the cars reached Ariostea Square and the Estense Castle for the first three time trials of the morning.

Crossed the river Bitbetween Occhiobello and Stienta, another block of tests immediately followed, the last of the 2024 edition. Next, straight to Bovolone for a stamp and the Time Control which inaugurated the last sector of the competition.

The approach to the finish line in Brescia involves another 5 stamp checks. The first to Villafranca of Verona, in the internal courtyard of the Scaligero Castle, specially set up for the occasion. About thirty kilometers in the North-West direction and then Sirmione, Desenzano del Garda and the Valtenesiwith the passage from Padenghe, Moniga, Manerba (whose port will be the seat of the CT) e San Felice. Before arriving at Salothe last location visited by this year’s extra large edition, an exceptional guest will also join the convoy: the Italian pop star Blancowinner of the 2022 Sanremo Festival, will experience the last stretch of the race aboard a Giannini Sport 750 Torpedo and will remain in the company of the competitors for the rest of the day.

The Time Control which will mark the conclusion of the 2200 kilometer ride will await the crews in Via Bormioli at Bresciaafter which the cars will parade as always, passing through platform of Viale Venezia. In the following hours, the Freccia Rossa will lend its services for a few hours Traveling Museum at streets and squares of the city centre: the cars will park in Corso Zanardelli, Via X Giornate, Piazza Mercato, Piazza Paolo VI, Largo Formentone, Via IV Novembre and Piazza Tebaldo Brusato. At 6.30pmon the Notte Bianca stage in Piazza della Loggia, will be held awards ceremony.
