More than an invitation to the population to participate in the electoral victory party (held last night), the first message from the new mayor of Pacentro, Giuseppe Silvestri, was a excusatio non petita. In short, the debut with the tricolor sash on the chest is not aimed at the Pacentrani and those four hundred and sixty-five voters who gave him the keys to the town, but rather it was addressed to the “Renewal” list of the outgoing mayor Guido Angelilli and to the “journalists attached to it neighbors”. Whoever they are.
In our interview, in which we asked the mayor what the first actions he will implement for Pacentro will be, Silvestri replied to consult the electoral program to have clear ideas. And it was done, even in a meticulous manner. The work to bring it out was so meticulous and patient that the program of the “Union and future for Pacentro” list (the one which, to use Silvestri’s words, “gathered the majority of voters”) is partly copied. Some of the points that the Pacentrani have awarded come directly from an electoral program of the “Together for Melito” list, published in full by the online newspaper “Il Reggino”. Proposals, ideas and ideas that the list had in mind to implement to run in the elections of the Municipality of Melito Porto Salvo, in the province of Reggio Calabria, in 2021. A list that, after having waved its electoral programme, did not even run in the round of the October of the same year. But the program is online, and from Pacentro the “Union and Future for Pacentro” list seems to have drawn partly from it. Enough to leave some passages in caps lockwithout the hassle of modifying them.
A film already seen in September 2021, when the “Finamente Noi” list (made up of penitentiary police officers and other law enforcement agencies) presented an electoral program for the administrative elections of Cocullo, copying it from another for the electoral round of Collar them. The program presented by Silvestri’s list is not totally copied from that of “Insieme per Melito”, at least not in the key points. However, those copy/paste passages are there, as under the voice of the Public Administration staff. Or on some points relating to the budget and production activities.
Of course, not exactly the best business card for settling in Palazzo La Rocca and for which he will be accountable, again using his words, “to the citizens of Pacentro”. To that population to whom he explained that those “foreigners” who paraded through Pacentro after the counting were institutional officials who had arrived to congratulate the electoral result. No puppeteers, only state officials such as senator Guido Liris, regional councilor Maria Assunta Rossi and Marianna Scoccia, who Silvestri mistakenly labeled as vice president of the Abruzzo region, a role held by Emanuele Imprudente.
Among the former institutional officials present at the celebrations, Andrea Gerosolimo, former regional councilor, also appeared. “It’s the best day of my life – exclaims the former municipal councilor of Sulmona in a video -. Seven years of massacres has made us here.” Phrase addressed, not too subtly, to Angelilli. Not to its entire administrative history, but only to that which goes back to 2017, the year in which the longa manus of civility arrived in Cogesa, with the installation of Vincenzo Margiotta strongly sponsored by Andrea Gerosolimo. From there the beginning of a governance whose consequences are palpable today, and which Angelilli, together with (a few) other mayors of the municipalities that are members of the investee, opposed.
Silvestri, however, reassures in the video shared on social channels: “I invite you not to give in to conspiracy theories and conspiracy theories.” Ipse dixitOn the contrary Iddu u I said… to stay in the province.
