BUSTO ARSIZIO – In the beginning it was a tensile structure to organize theatrical shows and social gathering events in a “difficult” suburban neighborhood, then it became “the hole”. An emblematic place of abandonment and decay, often at the center of complaints from residents due to uncivilized night-time attendance. We are in via Salgari, in the Redentore district, near what in the 80s was the “Bronx” on via Rossini. The metropolitan amphitheatre, as it was renamed on the occasion of the project “Together + in Busto is more beautiful”, will return to being protagonist thanks to Busto Estate: Saturday 29 June they will think about it the dancing by Jessica La Cognata and the karaoke led by Duomania to turn it into an arena.
Once upon a time there was a tensile structure
The amphitheater in via Salgari had been designed by architect Carlo Moretti, one of the leading “signatures” in the area. Once the tensile structure was dismantled, it remained an anonymous “basin” with steps around it. An attempt was made to revive it with a basketball playground, while in the building on the “ground floor” a bar remained active for a few years, also with evening activities, then the spaces were entrusted to the Civil Protection and the National Association of Financiers. But over the years, complaints about nighttime haunting have been repeated several times. Now it’s up to Busto Estate to try to relaunch the former tensile structure.
Bust Summer in the neighborhoods
As part of BA Estate, the calendar of summer events promoted and coordinated by the municipal administration, Saturday 29 June the arena between via Salgari and via Rodari will host a musical evening organized by Duomania Eventi. «The commitment of the municipal administration continues to enhance the meeting spaces found in the neighborhoods and at the same time to bring culture, in particular the most engaging events, closer to the neighborhood communities – he says the deputy mayor and councilor for culture Manuela Maffioli – the evening will be dedicated entirely to music and dance; an opportunity for fun and meeting under the stars for audiences of all ages.”
The program
We start at 8.30 pm with the Baby Dance animated by Jessica the Sister-in-Law, already a regional and national dance champion, who will offer children simple choreographies to the tune of the most popular songs among the little ones. From 9.15pm microphones open to all for the Karaoke guided and coordinated by Duomania by Raffaella Corradini and Giòmusic; those who wish to sing can contact the dedicated staff and guarantee themselves a performance space during the evening.
