Trent – Procession in the center of Trento, up to the Federation headquarters. The workers are protesting the cancellation of the provincial supplementary contract, an innovation which has led to the loss of 120 euros net per month on their paychecks. Almost 1,900 employees affected.
Since Friday morning, in Piazza Dante in Trento, a union gathering, with Filcams, Fisascat and Uiltucs asking for a solution capable of keeping together both the excellences and the critical issues. The strike was called jointly by Filcams Cgil, Fisascat Cisl and Uiltucs, against the unilateral cancellation of the provincial supplementary contract. Precisely on the day of the protest, employees will receive their pay slips reduced by 170 euros gross. It is the second strike in the history of cooperative families.
Both protests were linked to the termination of the supplementary contract and were organized between last year and this year. The contractual table had been open for some time, but the rigidity of the Cooperative Families and the Federation has not allowed us to reach a point of agreement until now that does not result in the penalization of the economic conditions of workers. For unions and workers, the request to transform the supplementary contract into a variable one, i.e. linked to the results of the individual families, remains inadmissible. A solution that would pit the weak against the strong, the poor against the rich.
Filcams, Fisascat and Uiltucs ask for an integrative contract, based on a system solution capable of bringing together both excellence and critical issues.
In recent days the answer had arrived from via Segantini. «To avoid affecting family budgets, and above all not to pass on the consequences of the non-application of the supplement to the employees, the Cooperative Families have decided to recognize a one-off amount, equal to at 600 euros (in three tranches), as a temporary compensation for the salary reduction”.
The measure proposed by the union delegation of the Cooperative Families had been anticipated by the vice president of the sector Paola Dal Sasso during the assembly of the Trentino Cooperation Federation on 6 June, and was shared by the presidents of the Cooperative Families. However, this was not enough to stop the union protest.
