“Our right to vote is one of the fundamental pillars of democracy. It is through voting that we can express our opinions, our hopes and our expectations for the future of our community and our country. Every vote counts, every voice matters“.
Thus begins the message to the voters of Alessandro Magerreferring to the turnout of the last municipal elections, just over 50%. A problem that pushed the electoral committee of the civic coalition to call a press conference to talk about the topic. During the meeting, where journalists met Federico Crespi And Alberto Mager (the candidate was unable to be present due to urgent work commitments), we returned to this theme, underlining how voting is a responsibility.
Alessandro Mager still wanted to send a letter to reiterate the importance of the vote: “In the first round, 20,487 Sanremo residents did not go to vote. I understand that there could have been many reasons: disillusionment, distrust or simply personal commitments. However, we are now faced with a crucial moment: the run-off. This is a unique opportunity to make your voice heard and to actively contribute to building a better future for Sanremo. Let’s not let others decide for us. Every single vote can make a difference. The ballot is the possibility of correcting the aim, of making a conscious and informed choice. Now is the time to take our destiny into our own hands and positively influence the direction we want to take as a community. I therefore invite you to go to the polls on Sunday 23 and Monday 24 June to exercise your right to vote with responsibility and determination. Let us all participate together in this important democratic moment. Let us not underestimate the power we have in our hands: the power to change, to improve, to choose. Let’s go vote in the runoff. Let’s make our voice heard. Let’s make a difference for Sanremo“.
The conference was also a moment to reflect on the reason for the low voter turnout: “However, this is a national phenomenon – said Crespi – However, if such a low percentage is recorded, the forces in the field have probably not done enough. And this applies to everyone. And perhaps for Liguria what is happening in the Region may also have had an influence“.
When asked about seeking coalition votes Fulvio Fellegara and a possible alliance Crespi replies: “We have always talked about civility during the campaign, we certainly won’t go chasing after the parties. However, it would be bizarre if Fellegara voters in the second round voted for a candidate other than Alessandro Mager”.
