Books in celebration at Villa di Baggio

PISTOIA – The suburbs of Pistoia are starting to populate with new ones houses full of books free for all age and interest groups, thanks to the initiative of the San Giorgio Library. The new houses, located or in the process of being positioned in the hamlets of Villa di Baggio, Fabbiana, Spedaletto and Valdibrana, are added to the first four created thanks to the contribution of the Ministry of Culture, as part of the national project “Library, neighborhood house” and positioned at Fornaci, in Castello di Cireglio, in Pracchia and in the garden of via Paganini in Pistoia.

Tuesday 18 June at 5pm in the garden in via del Campetto of Villa di Baggio the first of this new series will be inaugurated, decorated by the Pistoia painter Rossella Baldecchi and created thanks to the collaboration and initiative of the Pro Loco Villa di Baggio and the La Favola nursery school of Villa di Baggio. The Amici della San Giorgio association will take care of keeping the display of available books up to date, as part of the “From book to book” project.

Benedetta Menichelli, councilor for culture of the Municipality of Pistoia, will be present at the inauguration; Maria Stella Rasetti, director of the San Giorgio Library; Rossella Chietti, president of the Amici della San Giorgio association and representatives of the Pro Loco Villa di Baggio and the Service Council of the municipal nursery school La Favola. Rossella Baldecchi, the artist responsible for the decoration of the house, will intervene with a distant greeting.
