LNP present at the European Digital Forum in Lucca

Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro took part in the work of the 21st European Digital Forum, hosted at the Real Collegio of Lucca on 6 and 7 June. The event saw the presence of over 60 speakers, among the top European professionals in the world of the media and audiovisual industry, and more than 400 participants, with 45 companies involved, including LNP partners such as Fastweb. For an event that confirms itself as the greatest reference at European level in the digital media panorama.

Of particular interest are the interventions regarding the trends and transformations of the multimedia industry, the impact of artificial intelligence, innovations at a production level and the differences in the potential between streaming and satellite transmission. The contributions most focused on the sporting world concerned an analysis of the television productions of major events (tennis internationals, cycling Giro d’Italia) and a debate on the main platforms used for the enjoyment of sports content (traditional TV, streaming, social media, radio, press, etc.).

According to the data that emerged during the Forum, basketball is the second sport in the world in terms of number of streaming users (25% of total subscribers), behind only football (53%), and ahead of motor sports and tennis (both with 21%).

A data of particular interest for LNP, which has been active on the OTT market since 2015 with the offer of LNP Pass, a platform owned by the League and which broadcasts all the matches of the Serie A2 and Serie B Nazionale championships. Which this year came close to 1200 games in total, both in LIVE and VOD mode.
Another important focus concerned the problem of piracy in sport, with the latest technological and legislative interventions to try to combat the phenomenon.

An opportunity for training and updating for the National Basketball League, in an increasingly dynamic, interconnected and continuously developing technological and content digital media framework.

Ugh. LNP press
