Trenord, changes to traffic for RFI works in Como San Giovanni

For urgent extraordinary maintenance works which will be carried out by RFI in Como San Giovanni and will limit the capacity of the infrastructure, from Monday 17th to Saturday 22nd June between 9am and 12pm the service of the regional and cross-border lines passing through the station, i.e. the connections S11 Rho – Milan – Como – Chiasso, RE80 Milan Centrale – Chiasso – Locarno, S10 Biasca – Bellinzona – Chiasso – Como San Giovanni, S40 Como – Mendrisio – Varese.

The traffic measures will vary over the six work dates and will include alternative itineraries and the activation of replacement buses. All information on the measures is available on Trenord.it and the app, with details of the journeys that run in the 9-12 time slot and are affected by the changes and the train and bus timetables.

During the works period, season tickets and travel tickets valid for the Como San Giovanni/Como Camerlata and Milan connections can also be used on the Milan Cadorna – Saronno – Como Lago route.

Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th June

Between 8.20 and 12.20, trains of the S11 line will run between the Rho/Milano Porta Garibaldi and Carimate/Cucciago stations; Replacement buses will be activated on the Carimate – Chiasso and Cucciago – Como San Giovanni routes.

The RE80 line runs between Chiasso and Seregno will travel along an alternative route; they will not make the Como San Giovanni and Como Camerlata stops.

Travelers will be able to travel to and from Como San Giovanni using the trains on the S10 and S40 lines between Como San Giovanni and Chiasso; between Chiasso and the Canton of Ticino or Seregno and Milan with the trains of the RE80 line.

Travel to and from Como Camerlata will be permitted by replacement buses connecting with Chiasso.

Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th June

In the 9-12 time slot, the S11 trips covering the Milan Porta Garibaldi – Chiasso route will only travel between Milan Porta Garibaldi and Carimate. The S10 line will circulate between Chiasso and Biasca; the S40 between Chiasso and Varese.

On Wednesday 19th, passengers will be able to use the RE80 line to travel between Chiasso and Como San Giovanni, which will run regularly; between Como San Giovanni and Como Camerlata the S11 routes that carry out the Rho/Milan Porta Garibaldi – Como San Giovanni route, which will travel.

On Thursday 20th the RE80 trips which run between 9am and 12pm will be diverted between Chiasso and Seregno. Travelers departing from the stations between Como San Giovanni and Carimate towards the Canton of Ticino will be able to use the S11 line trains headed to Rho up to Seregno, and from there the RE80 trains.

Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd June

In the time slot 9-12, the S10 line will only circulate between Chiasso and Biasca; the S40 between Chiasso and Varese.

Between Chiasso and Como San Giovanni travelers will be able to use the trains of the S11 and RE80 lines.
