At the starting blocks “Alla Fiera del DES”, the provincial solidarity economy fair, organized by the Solidarity Economy District of Varese in the wonderful setting of the Estensi Gardens.
The DES Fair
With the fair, the DES of Varese offers a moment of celebration and sharing with the realities of its circuit, inviting all citizens to learn about new lifestyles and good practices. Created with the contribution of the Cariplo Foundation, the event enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Varese. Appointment Sunday 16 June.
Set up along Via Sacco and in the Estensi Gardens, the event will be an extraordinary opportunity to meet the various local realities of the solidarity economy, from fair trade to social agricultural cooperatives, through responsible tourism and ethical fashion, the protection of rights humans and the environment, with a careful eye also on renewable energy and sustainable mobility.
“Promote a fairer world”
Marco Bonetti, president of the Solidarity Economy District of Varese, states:
“The objective of the DES-VA association is to promote a fairer world, in which dignified work and respect for common goods are at the center of attention. Our fair will be a great celebration that will offer everyone the opportunity to learn about the virtuous realities that animate the productive fabric of our province with excellent and sustainable projects. It will also be an opportunity to meet, in a lively and festive context, many associations that promote lifestyles that can no longer be postponed: purchasing soberly, recycling. and reducing waste are in fact concrete steps towards individual and collective well-being.”
Program full of initiatives
The various and beautiful recreational and workshop initiatives that will be organized by the numerous companies present, both in their stands and in the tensile structure area. Among the most curious: a test drive of hybrid and electric cars proposed by Ecoverso; an escape room dedicated to water, the most precious asset we have, organized by Cast; an aquaponics system set up by Aqua Varese. Some of these activities are available by reservation only.
The program:
On Sunday 16 June, the fair will open to the public from 10am to 7.30pm with a producers’ exhibition and market in via Sacco and in the Estensi Gardens. Here there will also be exhibition areas dedicated to children, solidarity projects and a refreshment service.
After 7.30pm, the party will continue in the tensile area, with a refreshment corner and craft beer. Starting from 9pm, the Collettivo Musicanza will liven up the evening with popular dances.
