BRINDISI – “The situation of many operational units of the Perrino di Brindisi, i.e. the priority hospital in the province of Brindisi, is critical, starting with Surgery: the situation is such that all the units available to the ASL should be brought together, otherwise it will close the head physician or the labor inspectorate. Equally critical is the situation of Orthopedics and the Burn Center: in these cases too the staff should be merged, otherwise the services will end up being insured. Even for the Gynecology operational unit the situation is critical and it is not clear why the availability of personnel present in all the operational units of the province is not being rationalized. Finally: interventional radiology still remains non-existent, after 159 days spent in vain, while the activity of the NICU remains suspended. On this last point, it should be noted that a birth center without a NICU is already inconceivable, let alone in a level II DEA. On all this, press releases with verbs conjugated in the future tense (we will do, we will see, we will understand) are obviously not admissible, but only news on the securing of operational units in a state of crisis or the activation of deactivated ones. And on that occasion, numerous celebratory selfies of the managerial triad would also be understandable, unfortunately inflated at present, but to communicate facts that are perhaps important but not priority.” This was declared by the President of the Regional Budget and Planning Commission Fabiano Amati.

Insufficient number to guarantee shifts. Severe burn victims: director and 3 managers, 3 of whom are sick. Insufficient number in every respect, although the service should be a regional excellence. Gynaecology: critical number of managers, often not suitable to guarantee shifts. Solutions. Reorganization, albeit temporary, of all the operational units of the entire ASL, functional to guaranteeing the activity of Perrino as a priority. Intercompany measures to guarantee the immediate activation of interventional radiology (pending the establishment of a new interventional radiology operational unit) and the NICU.”
