L’AQUILA The services conference for the construction of the new 150-space car park in Viale della Croce Rossa begins. The municipal councilor for urban planning announced the news Francesco De Santis.
“We have called the Services Conference – explained the councilor – for the construction of the new car park close to the walls of Viale della Croce Rossa. With the start of the procedural and administrative process, the 90-day deadline begins to run within which all public administrations and stakeholders will be brought together around a table to discuss an important project for the entire community”.
The project hypothesis includes a mechanized ski lift, 150 parking spaces and 10 for campers as well as an area where the shuttle bus to the Luminous Fountain can park and two small structures intended for support activities for the management of the car park.
Compared to the original hypothesis, councilor De Santis has always explained that he does not want to proceed with a work that is too impactful in that area, since it is an area right next to the walls. However, it will be an essential car park for the life of the L’Aquila community. There, given the proximity to the University of Human Sciences in Viale Nizza, teachers, students and staff will be able to park, thus alleviating traffic in the historic center and freeing up vital spaces.
“As an administration – concluded De Santis – we are proceeding in a determined and rapid manner to provide the city with a strategic infrastructure serving residents and citizens, as well as students and tourists. There are also constant contacts with the Ministry of Infrastructure, led by Vice Premier Matteo Salvini, to guarantee financial coverage of the work in its entirety”.
