Employment continues to grow, with 2,000 more places. The first three months of 2024 give us better data than last year. Over half a million Abruzzo residents are employed: the rate rises to 61.6%. Economist Giuseppe Mauro is confident and underlines how unemployment in our region is below the national average in addition to exports growing on the automotive and pharmaceutical fronts. We must be cautiously optimistic about the trend regarding Abruzzo, overcoming the difficult period of Covid. Even on the export front, the automotive sector, as mentioned, the means of transport, is confirmed as one of the leading sectors without forgetting the reality of the pharmaceutical sector. If you want to find a negative figure, it concerns female and youth work which, as in the rest of Italy, is struggling to take off, even if there are margins for recovery. Lastly, the serious problem of demographic decline must be taken into consideration.
