The catwalk on Viale Fulvio Testi is a reality

The new cycle/pedestrian walkway was laid this night, crossing viale Fulvio Testi, which from viale Romagna in Cinisello Balsamo arrives on viale Casiraghi in the municipality of Sesto San Giovanni.

A complex operation to hoist the span, a single piece 63 meters long and 4 meters wide, weighing 82 tons. Just under 10 hours of work, with traffic diverted elsewhere and closed on that stretch from yesterday at 8pm until this morning at 6am.

Mayor Giacomo Ghilardi is also on site to follow the works closely and indicated the exact time of the installation: 5.38 this morning. With him there were also the deputy mayor Giuseppe Berlin and the councilor for Public Works Francesco Scaffidi.

“I wanted to be present this night to fully experience this particularly significant and spectacular moment at the same time. We are faced with an impressive work of strategic value which allows us to secure the crossing of an avenue which represents a physical barrier for two city districts and therefore to create connections. I thank all the staff present on the construction site: engineers, surveyors, workers from the various companies, as well as Anas for the difficult work of these months. The next appointment will be at the end of the year when the catwalk can finally be inaugurated”commented Giacomo Ghilardi.
