OLBIA. Tomorrow, June 15th, at 6.30pmin the stretch of sea of ​​via Escrivà, the final of the Rowing of the Crafts. There will be eight crews who will take to the water on a scenic three-lane course with two tacks. In the water the reigning champions of the Police who will be challenged by Reel, Accountants, Inps, Teachers, Psychiatrists, Enel and Beauticians. The speaker Tommy Rossi will once again be the official voice of the race.

SERIES HEADS. The teams will compete on three lanes with two tacks on a 240 meter course aboard the historic eight and a half meter wooden pole screens with ten rowers plus a coxswain. Two batteries of three teams and one of two: the seeded teams, Aspo, Law Enforcement and Accountants, will start in the central lane.

REGULATION. After the exciting and spectacular parade of the paliscreens to the tune of the national anthem and Dimonios, the anthem of the Sassari Brigade, the judge’s starting whistle will officially mark the start of the first three-way challenge. The winners of the three heats plus the three best overall second times will advance to the semi-final. The six teams that will have access to the semi-final will compete, again on 240 meters with two turns. The winners plus the first best second half will make up the final heat.

PRIZES. The title of champions of the Remata dei mestieri is up for grabs with the delivery of the challenger trophy: a scale half-hull of a rowing boat, applied on a base of fine ennobled teak wood coming from the deck of the Amerigo Vespucci training ship. Plaques for the second and third place finishers. Wooden ladle for the last team in the ranking and for the second year the Goliardia Award will be awarded to the team that best represents the sporting and playful spirit of rowing. Helmsman diplomas will also be awarded to the students who attended the course during the winter, which ended with passing the final test.

After the race and the awards ceremony there will be a party in the Naval League headquarters in collaboration with the Idroscalo bar-restaurant and the music of Tore Nieddu. “The rowing of trades is an event that belongs to the city – comments the president Tore Bassu – through which the Naval League contributes to making Olbia embrace its sea again. And it does so through the city’s professionals, all belonging to different professions, united by a love for the sea, for rowing and the pleasure of being a team player. A spectacular event to see and exciting to experience.”
