In the context of Ama-Te 2024 reviewpromoted by the company Affari Collaterali, on 15 and 16 June, the Apollonio Theater in Varese will host two events dedicated to culture and solidarity.
The cultural association The Velvet Face of Brenta will in fact represent two theatrical performancesthe proceeds of which will be entirely donated to the Giacomo Ascoli Foundationengaged in the construction of the “Il Faro” building, a safe haven for families of haematological oncology children.
The lighthouse, the construction of which should be completed by the end of the summer, will in fact welcome the families of the young patients, as well as specialists and researchers who take care of them.
June 15th at 9pm the dramatic comedy will be performed “Was beautiful”, the story of Zeno, an elderly widower suffering from senile dementia, and his four children. The plot revolves around the decision to move Zeno to a retirement home and to sell the old country house, provoking a whirlwind of emotions and buried memories. The direction enhances the narrative through the skilful use of atmospheres and lights, creating an environment that reflects the delicate balance between the lightness of the comedy and the depth of the family drama.
June 16th at 6.30pmit will instead be the turn of “Borderline”, a dramatic comedy performed by young people aged between 17 and 23 of the “Youth” theater course at Volto di Velluto. The show, set in an imaginary state, follows the stories of characters who oscillate between the ridiculous and the tragic, offering a biting satire on social, ethnic and political divisions, authoritarian regimes and corruption.
