It was around 7.30pm yesterday, post-closing time for the Gallarate Ing Lab, when a group of 10-15 people smashed the business window. A situation that has been going on for some time now and which has worsened “since they put the cameras in the station area”, he explains Angelo Nardione of the owners of the business.
“We make reports practically every evening for noise and drug dealing – Angelo Nardi continues to say – 10 days ago the same shop window had been defaced by the usual small group of 10-15 people”.
The situation for the activities and residents of the area, in the center of Gallarate «it’s dramatic, the employees are afraid to leave the store at any time and the same goes for the customers who have to come here».
Which is why «today I will take steps to find another place. Fortunately, we are renting here, even though we have invested 45 thousand euros in renovations which, to date, is money wasted.”
But there is one thing that particularly displeases Angelo: «No support from local authoritieseven if last night a councilor came and helped me clean the windows, but he only showed up when the damage was done».
Today it will stick out complaint: «There are witnesses who saw the scene. The usual group was there and for pure fun they broke the window with their kicks. The police have tracked down one of these subjects and today we will file a complaint.”
At this point the situation has been going on for some time: “My wife, who works with me, was verbally attacked a few years ago when she was leaving the shop and ran away terrified.” Even if «now they have installed a series of cameras in the station area and these small groups move in the parallel streets. We are never calm, I’m here from 10 in the morning until 2-3-4 at night.”
