City councilor Simone Gramaglia of Fratelli d’Italia denounces the political crisis in Agrigento and asks Mayor Miccichè for urgent decisions to overcome the impasse.

The rejection of the “Three-year program of public works 2024-2026” in the city council last night marked the collapse of the majority in support of the Miccichè council. This situation can no longer be ignored by the Administration and the Mayor, who must urgently address the now evident political crisis. This is supported by the group leader of Fratelli d’Italia, the city councilor, Simone Gramaglia, who adds:

“In a moment of great difficulty, while the city prepares for the important challenge of the Italian Capital of Culture and for the implementation of projects such as the lighting of the Esseneto Stadium, it is unacceptable that the members of the other majority parties hinder progress by rejecting measures crucial. This obstructive behavior and attitude, linked to an old way of doing politics, held by city councilors, compromises the budget and paralyzes the municipal administration.

We ask Mayor Miccichè to recognize the seriousness of the situation and make the necessary decisions. Brothers of Italy, since the beginning of this administration, has always acted with seriousness, loyalty and coherence, working for the good of the citizens despite the difficulties.

The situation has become unsustainable. We can no longer tolerate political games that impede the growth and development of our city. We are disappointed and worried about the current administrative structure, which does not guarantee the timely implementation of projects essential for collective well-being.

If the crisis is not resolved immediately and clarity is not achieved in the city council, we are ready to resort to voting, giving citizens the opportunity to choose a new majority capable of ensuring stability and administrative continuity.” Fratelli d’Italia currently has three councilors on the council.

The released note was also signed by the councilor Gerlano Piparo, the councilor Costantino Ciulla, the councilor Gioacchino Alfano and the provincial secretary Barba.
