Livorno, bathing establishment does not issue receipts and evades taxes

The financial police discovered one bathing establishment of Livorno which has not issued dozens of receipts evading the tax for an amount exceeding 250 thousand euros. The investigations of the yellow flames began by observing the low profitability declared by the structure annually compared to the number of umbrellas and the large volume of users. Extensive documentation was thus acquired, always in constant and dutiful cross-examination with the party, from which it emerged that the number of umbrellas and seasonal customers declared were inconsistent and clearly not in line with the actual and real potential of the establishment to be over 200 umbrellas: “Up to 50 percent fewer were declared” underline the financiers.

Furthermore, over “thirty failures to issue receipts and tax receipts” for the rental of umbrellas and deckchairs were contested. As a result of the audit, an overall tax evasion of more than 250 thousand euros between direct taxes and VAT was contested. The establishment, in response to the dispute, has agreed to the “special repentance”, which provides for the full payment of evaded taxes, but with legal interest and reduced penalties. The manager remedied his position by paying the tax authorities 180 thousand euros through payments to the Revenue Agency.
