Parma’s signing campaign has officially begun, in this case before the fateful date of July 1st which coincides with the opening of the transfer market. The official status of Emanuele Valeri it is the first incoming shot of the Crusaders, who with the arrival of the Roman winger seem to have made, in my opinion, an intelligent move from all points of view. Meanwhile, we are talking about a boy who is still young, born in 1998 and who has two Serie A championships behind him with Cremonese and Frosinone; the one with the grey-reds was particularly positive on a personal level, where he was often among the best on the pitch. Valeri also comes to cover the left-back position, left unprotected by the farewells of Zagaritis and Ansaldi. Furthermore, the player’s acquaintance with Mr. Pecchia should not be overshadowed, as in Cremona he placed a lot of emphasis on the work of the defensive wingers and in particular Valeri himself, whose offensive skills played a fundamental role in bringing the Grigiorossi to Serie A. I also think that the mental aspect also counted: the Roman full-back comes from the lower categories, he is someone who doesn’t hold back on the wing and who wants to get there, and who due to his characteristics and type of career can be compared to Manuel Lazzari of Lazio , another side with a strong offensive propulsion. Last but not least, we are talking about an intelligent operation also on an economic level, because the player arrives on a free transfer.

The purchase of Valeri must then be included in a series of rumors and indiscretions that seem to suggest a small strategic change in the Parma market. From the rumors that follow, in fact, the Crusaders would seem to want to adopt a more Italian signing campaign compared to the past ones: even the latest names linked to the Emilian club, such as Cambiaghi or some goalkeepers, seem to suggest this, even if they will not be missing purchases coming from abroad also to facilitate the concept of player trading now greatly exploited by second-tier teams. Regardless of the declarations, however, the Parma market promises to be quite challenging, because it is true that the backbone of the team will be maintained, but at the same time it seems clear that the team needs to be strengthened in all departments to gain competitiveness in view of the top flight. No revolutions, but yes interventions: and I think we will still see at least 5-6 more incoming movements.

In particular, there are two roles that are talked about with a certain continuity according to transfer rumors: the goalkeeper and the attacker. However, very specific characteristics would be needed for Pecchia’s game. As for the goalkeeper, a player who is good with his feet as well as between the posts would be ideal, a detail that last year allowed Chichizola to turn the ball in a certain way, often setting the attackers in motion directly with long and precise throws. Very mobile and fast players like Bonny can benefit from this approach from the back and last year’s promotion is clear proof of this. As for the striker, not all the names that are circulating have honestly convinced me: what would be needed is not so much a striker with characteristics similar to those of Bonny, but one who knows how to complement him, in such a way as to alternate with the Frenchman or to play together. The identikit seems to correspond to a physically strong and fast attacker, capable of reaching double figures in Serie A: there are several similar elements in circulation. I am convinced that Antonio Colak could make room for him: the Croatian was unable to establish himself and in my opinion he could be sold to a second-tier league (Turkey, Greece), with Charpentier remaining as the third striker. For the rest, however, we are still only at the beginning…
