With a loan of 1 million and 600 thousand euros, contained in the budget change approved by the city council, the administration led by Alessandro Tomasi will redevelop the Certosa, the popular building of Le Fornaci, in via Gentile, in which there are 74 apartments for a total of 161 inhabitants. The Municipality intervenes in public housing with financing and works that are unprecedented in the history of Spes management,

“With an extraordinary transfer from the Municipality to Spes of 250 thousand euros, we are intervening to redevelop 32 accommodations, of which 12 are already ready, in addition to the 23 already subject to renovation with regional funds and the 6 intended for people with disabilities, in possession of ERP requirements, which Spes is redeveloping with PNRR funds. The second is that of the redevelopment of the buildings, as in the case of the Certosa, on which we have just approved a loan that will allow the Pistoia social housing company to begin work in the coming months It is clear that the need is much greater than the capacity to respond, but the Municipality is doing its part to do its best with interventions that have no equal in administrative history. We can think of investing in this heritage thanks to the recovery of society.”

The Certosa building complex is deteriorated and shows notable signs of decay. The project, by Spes, involves the renovation of the facades, the replacement of the fixtures, the replacement of the existing old boilers and the heating elements, the recovery of the external walkways and the renovation of the related flooring and the functional recovery of portions of the roof.

Work will begin approximately in September. This redevelopment – explains a note – follows other interventions in the municipal area, namely: the energy redevelopment carried out in the two public residential buildings in via D’Aragona, with 2 million and 100 thousand euros financed under the extraordinary urban redevelopment program of Bottegone; the ongoing extraordinary maintenance, again in Bottegone, of the property in via Vittorio Veneto, financed with PNRR funds for 1 million and 600 thousand euros; the renovation, already completed, of the roofing of the building in via Valiani and of the ongoing renovation of the building in via Gentile 479/478 financed with Spes resources.
