The head of Augustus is veiled and his universal message of peace to welcome the ‘Great Ones of the Earth’ to Puglia. It is the initiative of MArTA, the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto, in view of the G7 summit which will take place tomorrow in Borgo Egnazia (Fasano), under the Italian presidency.

For its greeting, expressed in all the languages ​​of the States represented in the forum, MArTA chose the precious marble that portrays the head of the emperor Augustus, dating back to the first half of the 1st century AD and discovered in Taranto in 1943. The portrait , exhibited in room
