In the presence of the mayor Giorgio Del Ghingaro, the multifunctional sports field built in the parish of Sant’Antonio was inaugurated, with the financial contribution of the Viareggini Lions and the Lions International Foundation, as well as the archbishopric of Lucca.
“A project” declares the President of the Lions Viareggio-Versilia Host, Luca Lunardini “on which we have been working for some time and which will allow us to have a multi-purpose sports field in the city center to be made available to young and less young sportspeople. An important commitment both in organizational and economic terms and as Lions we strongly wanted it in view of our secular mission which wants us to be close to our fellow citizens. The Lions motto is We Serve – we serve, and this is also a way of putting ourselves at the service of our communities.”
“The collaboration between the two Viareggio Clubs” concludes the President of the Viareggio-Riviera Club, Maurizio Bartolomei “has led to a great result. The Parish of Sant’Antonio, governed by the Franciscan Friars Minor, hosts the soup kitchen, a response to the needs of the weakest, the city can always count on an offer of solidarity that aims to be completed by making a structure for recreational and sporting activities available to everyone, especially young people.”
And to continue to support these exceptional realities, this Sunday, June 16, at 8.30 pm, the beautiful and traditional Lions initiative of the charity dinner is renewed in the gardens of the convent of San Francesco in the parish. Dinner whose proceeds will be donated entirely to activities in favor of those most in need.
Table service will be done, in full spirit of Lionistic service, by the same members of the two Clubs
The event, sponsored by the Municipality of Viareggio, is aimed at all fellow citizens who want to support this activity which is so important for Viareggio and the whole of Versilia.
