Rome, 13 June. (askanews) – The sixteenth edition of the “Marateale – Basilicata International Award” film festival is underway, which will be held from 23 to 27 July in the suggestive “pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea”. The celebrities announced include Vanessa Incontrada, Elena Sofia Ricci, Raoul Bova and Maria Grazia Cucinotta. Special guest the actress Martina Stella: “I am truly very, very happy. Very serious that I didn’t come to Maratea first, but I have to catch up. I’ve wanted to come to this festival for years because I believe it is a very, very important initiative, especially for our cinema and for young people. So I’ll be back soon.”
Just under 3 thousand works, including feature films and shorts, sent from 110 nations, were proposed for the three sections of the event: “Green Award”, “Marateale in short” and “Marateale in school”.
Frecciarossa, for the fourth consecutive year, will be the main partner of the “Marateale”. Meanwhile, Trenitalia expects a growing number of travelers for the summer, as the CEO, Luigi Corradi, explains: “The season is going very well. I must say that it started with a spring already growing compared to last year, with May maintaining these levels of growth. We expect a summer as it is already now in June with further growth and this is our goal for a growth in tourism of around 10% compared to last year”.
For the third consecutive year, within the Marateale ample space will be given to the “Young Blood” project, to promote young talents under 30.
