The Umbria Regional Museums Directorate is also celebrating the “European Days of Archaeology” with guided tours, workshops, excursions and other events taking place from tomorrow to Sunday. Starting from Perugia, an innovative documentation project on the “missile acorns” of the Bellum Perusinum is underway at the National Archaeological Museum of Umbria (in the photo), while on Sunday at 5pm at Villa del Colle del Cardinale the archaeologist Sabrina Batino will hold a conference on “The Artemide Efesia of the Oddi Baglioni Museum”, introduced by Ilaria Batassa with conclusions by Tiziana Caponi. Thus begins a collaboration between Manu and Villa which in the summer will bring Artemide Efesia back to the Villa for one day.
At the Volumni Hypogeum – Necropolis of Palazzone tomorrow at 4.30pm there is “Work in progress” to “experience first-hand” research, discoveries and activities, on Saturday at 10 and 11.30 the “Treasure Hunt, between Deposits and Restoration Laboratory and Sunday at 10.30 and 11.30 guided tour of the restoration site (booking on 075.397969)
At the archaeological area of Carsulae (Terni) free guided tours on Saturday at 4.30pm and Sunday at 11am with a free walk and workshop for children, at Castello Bufalini di San Giustino on Saturday at 4pm “Apollo and the muses”, an extraordinary visit to the room frescoed by Cristofano Gherardi with exceptional opening to the public of the Sala di Apollo in the main tower (reservations required on 075.856115).
In Spoleto tomorrow at 11am at the Rocca Albornoz there is ‘The art of chisel’, a guided tour of the funerary objects, on Saturday at 5pm at the National Archaeological Museum and Roman Theater there will be a first temporary exhibition of finds from the Lanzi Collection, at 5.30pm guided tour of the Tempietto sul Clitunno, “a small Lombard jewel”. At the National Archaeological Museum of Orvieto and the Necropolis of the Crocifisso del Tufo on Saturday at 4pm the visit “Walking through archaeology”. In Gubbio on Saturday at 5pm at the Roman Theater Park there is “Discovering the missing finds”, an investigative visit, on Sunday at 5pm at Palazzo Ducale “The underground mosaic” with visit and creative workshop.
