On the topic of housing in Vicenza, the majority councilor Raffaele Colombara (For a great Vicenza) presents a question starting from an alarming fact: in Vicenza 12 thousand apartments are empty.
“On 11 June 2024 – writes Colombara – during the City Council, the alarming figure emerged of 12,000 empty apartments, without any registered residents, in the municipal area of Vicenza, according to data provided by the municipal CED, as stated several times in the chamber by the Municipal councilor of the PD Angelo Tonello.
This figure, although partially justifiable by second homes or unusable properties, in any case represents a significant number which contrasts strongly with the housing emergency affecting many families in Vicenza.
In view of an upcoming session of the council commission dedicated to the topic, requested with an agenda approved in the same municipal council yesterday 11 June, it is essential to present in advance an updated and complete analysis of the cognitive elements and the necessary and urgent responses to address the crisis .

ü Regarding the housing emergency, what concrete initiatives have been undertaken by the Municipal Administration in the last 10 years? Which ones specifically to encourage meetings between owners of empty properties and citizens looking for a home?

ü With reference to the 12,000 empty apartments, it is considered appropriate to divide the data into categories and social groups most affected by the difficulty in accessing housing.
ü According to which guidelines does the Administration intend to use the funds deriving from the sale of the ERP housing for the restructuring plan approved by the City Council, with what estimated timeframes for the start of the restructuring plan and for its completion?
ü What new types of actions and incentives are envisaged for owners of empty properties who decide to make them available on the rental market at controlled prices, considering how the latest actions (2023 Home Emergency Notice) have not met with a significant response?
ü What support measures are planned for families who find themselves in particularly critical housing conditions?”
