Aversa (Caserta) – Sunday 16 June, 8pm, free entry, in the church of the Immaculate in Aversa, the Spring Pianofestival returns. “After the success of Luis Sanchez, the Argentinian but US-based pianist who enchanted the large audience present – declares Giuseppe Lettieri, organizer of the event – despite it being election day, with a classical repertoire from Bach to Mozart to Listz, but also with twentieth-century incursions such as the dances of the Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera, the Pianofestival Spring will pay homage to the great Italian opera, a UNESCO heritage site, with the concert by the duo Alessandro Licchetta and Andrea Sequestro who will perform not only pieces by Mozart, but also the overtures from Verdi’s La Forza del Destino, from William Tell and Rossini’s The Barber of Seville”.

“In short, it is worth saying – continues Lettieri – we will see the piano at the Opera, with two excellent pianists. The concert, which is free to enter, is held at the Church of the SS. Immacolata which is located in via San Nicola, less than a hundred meters from the church dedicated to the protector of Bari, almost at the crossroads with the road that then leads to Maddalena, once home to the old civil asylum. I say this because several people have made a mistake because in Aversa there is another church dedicated to the Immaculate Conception in the southern area, in Ponte Mezzotta. Therefore, the concert, in addition to making great music heard and known, gives the opportunity to get to know an authentic baroque jewel that thanks to this initiative more and more people in Aversa and beyond now know about it.”

The study and professional paths of the piano duo Alessandro Licchetta & Andrea Sequestro are parallel; both from Puglia, they had teachers in common and, as soloists or in chamber ensembles, they held concerts in Italy, Spain, England and Austria.

Alessandro Licchetta graduated cum laude in piano and chamber music with Filippo Arlia, Corrado De Bernart and Francesco Libetta; he specialized with Pasquale Iannone, followed masterclasses held by Aldona Budrewicz-Jacobson, Aylen Pritchin, Egon Mihajlović, Vladimir Mlinarić and Antonello Farulli and played chamber music with Carlo Romano, Emanuele Urso, Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, Ilaria Ribezzi and Francesco Libetta . Andrea Sequestro graduated cum laude with Corrado De Bernart, specialized with Pasquale Iannone, participated in masterclasses held by Cristiano Burato, Emilia Fadini, Roberto Cappello, Gianfranco Sannicandro, Egon Mihajlovic, Vladimir Mlinaric. With Corrado De Bernart he created cycles of conferences on Gioachino Rossini, Louis Moreau Gottschalk, and George Gershwin.
