First the national team at the European Championships, then the Campania Teatro Festival. Saturday 15 June will be an emotional evening of television. At 10.40pm, with a repeat at 5.10pm the following day, Rai 5 offers viewers the traditional docufilm by director Nadia Baldi on the 2023 edition of the event directed by Ruggero Cappuccio. A month of programming, condensed into just under an hour, to relive the atmosphere of a multidisciplinary Festival, unique in the Italian cultural panorama and among the most important on the international scene. While waiting to announce Campania Teatro 2024, we will be able to retrace the most significant moments of an event that hosted names of absolute prestige in Naples and throughout the region. John Malkovich and Ingeborga Dapkunaite, but also Lydia Ziemke and Chris Salter, as well as “our” Antonio Latella, Moni Ovadia, Davide Iodice, Francesco Di Leva, Euridice Axen, Maddalena Crippa, Peppe Servillo, Francesco Montanari, Galatea Ranzi, Federico and Jacopo Rampin, Claudia Castellucci and many others. Produced by the Campania Festival Foundation, with the contribution of the Campania Region and the Ministry of Culture, the docu-film is the story in images of 31 days full of extraordinary events, where the theater is the only Elsewhere in which the relationship between beings human connects heartbeats and breathing, eyes and eyes, gestures and gestures, dialogues and growth of ideas, in a spiritual migration that becomes flight to fight and return. A polytheistic religion founded on only three precepts: respect, listening, freedom. In the meantime, while waiting for the issue of the Development and Cohesion Funds to be resolved, which are also a source of financing for the Campania Teatro Festival, we continue to work tirelessly on the 2024 edition. The program is substantially ready, but to make it official, and to therefore know the dates and the protagonists of the seventeenth season of the Festival, we will have to trust in the imminent solution of a problem that involves thousands of entertainment workers, impacting, in various ways, the local economy.
