TRAPANI (ITALPRESS) – The financiers of the provincial command of Trapani have proceeded with the seizure of shares and the business compendium of a Custonaci company active in the marble processing sector, owned by three people investigated, for various reasons, for the crimes of fraudulent bankruptcy of documents and assets and self-laundering. The provision, issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Trapani, arises from the investigations carried out against a limited liability company, which went bankrupt in 2022. The investigations carried out, made particularly difficult by the absence of accounting documentation, made it possible to reveal a criminal plan, specifically conceived by a single director attributable to the suspects and the result of complex planning, perpetrated above all through the diversion of capital goods owned by the bankrupt company in favor of a new company with the same corporate structure and governance as well as legal and operational offices coinciding with the one brought to failure.
With this scheme, a bankruptcy liability quantified at approximately 1 million and 250 thousand euros would have been accumulated, mainly towards the Treasury for unpaid tax and social security debts. Considering that the assets diverted from the assets of the bankrupt company would have been reintroduced into the economic circuit, the suspects were also charged with the crime of self-laundering, the proceeds of which were quantified at over 1.5 million euros. “The seizure of the shares of the company, as well as of the assets illicitly acquired by it, will be able to guarantee both the tax claim and the mass of creditors, and the continuity of the company activity, following the appointment for this purpose by the Judge of a judicial administrator”, the investigators said. – photo of the Guardia di Finanza press office – (ITALPRESS). vbo/com 13-Jun-24 10:16 .
