06/26/2024 – “I would have expected a more articulated and incisive strategy from the regional council, capable of making the Marche Region play a leading role in the crisis that led to the nationalization of the plants and commercial branches of the Ariston group by the Russian government. Instead, once again, shyness seems to reign supreme.”
Maurizio Mangialardi, the regional group leader of the Democratic Party, said this: “A shyness that betrays the total lack of ideas and the lack of initiative, as demonstrated by the response of councilor Antonini in the regional council to my question to find out what actions Palazzo Raffaello intended to undertake towards the Meloni government in order to protect not only Ariston’s factories, but also those of other Marche companies operating in Russia. Admit that the Marche Region has not been able to go beyond an endorsement of support for the Development Agreement signed between Ariston and the Ministry of Made in Italy for the reshoring of the plants, it is very little, if not nothing. And this is a problem, because if the Marche Region remains at the mercy of the decisions taken elsewhere, none of ours companies is safer.”
“In addition to a more concrete initiative in the field of economic development policies – concludes the dem group leader – I would have expected the regional council to announce its commitment to taking action towards the national government so that Italy becomes a protagonist in Europe of a concrete action aimed at stopping the war immediately. But no, through Antonini’s voice, we learn that we continue to endorse the path of international sanctions, which have now demonstrated their ineffectiveness. We can go around it all we want, but, as the trade union organizations have already highlighted for some time, the dark scenarios affecting our economy are the result of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Therefore, without diplomatic action worthy of the name, which will inevitably have to involve all the countries of the European Union, the case of the nationalization of Ariston, which was not the first, may not be the last”.
