«The Democratic Party is there and has achieved a wonderful result, we knew it would be a difficult challenge but the results were satisfactory and the new councilor, Fabio Isnardi, will represent us in the best possible way in Turin». Thus began Andrea Ghignone, PD provincial secretary, during the post-election press conference which took place last Tuesday. Almost 20% at the provincial level.
«Growth in the Asti area, but above all in the municipality of Canelli, where a centre-left list has no longer won since 1973 – comments Ghignone – and in Moncalvo». The first assessment made was to maintain contacts between the administrators, the territory and the citizens also in anticipation of the next electoral challenge, that of the Municipality of Asti. «At a national level the outcome was even surprising – added the deputy secretary of the PD, Roberto Vercelli – but also at a local level, in terms of votes, we have grown thanks to the widespread work we have carried out in this period and which has brought us results despite the fact that the electoral campaign had started late. However, this – Vercelli continued – is only the starting point.”
Vercelli then congratulated the candidate Elena Accossato who received around 15,000 preferences, coming in ahead of the Piedmontese candidates running for the European elections. «With regards to the city – concluded Vercelli – I believe that the mayor must make a good reflection because the results show that the majority that elected him is no longer there and that the people of Asti are not happy with his management. With the excellent result of Bosia-Briccarello and also comparing ourselves with the 5 Stars – he concluded – we must think from the perspective of the 2027 municipal elections, because it would be nice if Asti, Nizza and Canelli were governed by the centre-left”.
The new regional councilor, Fabio Isnardi, is more than satisfied with his result. «My objective, after having put a grain of sand in the mechanism of the Asti centre-right – he underlined – is to create a short circuit in their engine because, speaking with people, we have seen that there is a need to enthusiastically embrace a common project and it is my intention to make myself available to create a network of local administrators close to the PD. The data we have achieved is absolutely encouraging, also taking into account how inexpensive our electoral campaign was.”
Very happy with the network that has been activated around her, Elena Accossato. «They have all been very supportive – she said – and this honors me a lot, the goal is not to lose these territories and maintain the connection with Asti»».
