Manpowerworld leader in search and selection solutions for specialized profiles, provision of fixed-term and permanent work and implementation of training projects, is next to the Gabrielli Groupa solid reality in large-scale retail trade present in five regions with the Oasi, Tigre and Tigre Amico brands, for the promotion in the Marche of a project to introduce students from the region’s hotel schools to work, with the possibility of training free of charge as butchers and being placed after graduation in the gastronomic butchers of the Oasi supermarkets.
“Magazzini Gabrielli invests heavily in training – declared the manager of the “Training and Development” section of Magazzini Gabrielli SpA, a doctor Piera Agostini – and the training hours are constantly growing, as can be seen from the data in the latest Sustainability Report published: 29,605 hours involving 1,841 collaborators, with an average of 16.1 hours of training per single person. These data confirm that Magazzini Gabrielli SpA recognizes the importance of continuous training for its collaborators and is dedicating significant resources to ensure that the latter acquire the skills necessary to carry out their work effectively. In this context, the collaboration with Manpower has been satisfactory because, together, we share the importance of offering training skills alongside their application in the world of work. This initiative constitutes a pilot project that will be replicated next year also in the other regions where Magazzini Gabrielli is present, with the aim of satisfying the growing demand for workers in the butcher’s department”.

It is essential that the training activity of schools is accompanied by that of the world of work, in order to give our young people the skills most sought after by companies and therefore have better employment prospects once their education is completed” he has declared Marco Calvaresi, Vertical Leader GDO&GDS of Manpower. “According to the latest research by ManpowerGroup, in Italy three out of four companies find it difficult to find candidates with all the required skills, a percentage that rises to 80% for the Consumer Goods & Services sector. Despite this, companies intend to increase their workforce, with hiring forecasts of +11% for central Italy in the current quarter”.
The project, launched at the beginning of the year, was developed starting from a roadshow by Manpower and the Gabrielli Group to present the initiative in the schools of the region, where it met with a high level of interest from students and teachers, attracting numerous signatures. Enrolled students had access, in the months of March, April and May, to free theoretical and practical training courses lasting 40 hours, which were held in the afternoon outside of class hours, inside schools and in local Oasi supermarkets. At the end of the courses, on the occasion of the delivery of the certificate of participation, they were created three show cooking on campus of San Benedetto del Tronto on May 21st, at the Porto Sant’Elpidio campus on May 27th and finally at the Ascoli Piceno campus on June 3rd. The best 20 students who took part in the courses will be placed directly within the Group’s stores, with the possibility of expanding the number of placements in the future. The initiative is part of a broader project, which aims to activate an important collaboration in the training field, with the aim of supporting the employment placement of young people and providing the skills required by local companies.
