“Anyone who has a friend or acquaintance who has been saved thanks to a blood donor. You know that you can do it: you are very important, we are very important.” Gianna Nannini accepted the invitation of the Sienese voluntary associations who collaborate with the Siena Polyclinic for blood donation and thus decided to launch an appeal to citizens. His message arrives on the eve of June 14, World Blood Donor Day – but also the birthday of the artist who turns 70 tomorrow – and in view of the arrival of the summer period, when it is necessary to have greater attention and sensitivity towards this practice often lifesaving.

“It is very important to donate blood. Donate blood for our Sienese community”: this is the appeal to donate blood that comes from the rocker with a video created for all the Sienese voluntary associations that collaborate with the Sienese university hospital and for all possible donors of the territory of his hometown.

World Blood Donor Day is celebrated by the Aou Senese Blood Transfusion Center, directed by Elena Marchiniwith an intense week of events: after the collective blood donation of jockeys and district managers on Wednesday 12 June, on Friday 14 all the local voluntary associations will be protagonists with an event featuring the Cus Siena Rugby athletes as testimonials : “solidarity towards the goal” this is the slogan of the initiative organized by the territorial organizations of Anpas, Avis, Red Cross, Blood Donors of the Contrade and Fratres who, since 2022, have signed a collaboration protocol with the Aou Senese to strengthen and develop collaboration in the field of blood and blood component donation.
