A meeting linked to the organization of “Agrigento Capital of Culture” was held yesterday in Agrigento in the premises of the university campus. Many cultural and tourist operators in the Agrigento area took part in this civic conference in view of the important event that will see our province in the spotlight for a long year.
The Mayor of Agrigento Franco Micciché and the President of the “Agrigento 2025” foundation Giacomo Minio gave a greeting address. The participants then had the opportunity to choose which thematic table to take part in by choosing between: 1) Community and governance of spaces public coordinated by Federica Salvo; 2) Creativity and cultural production coordinated by Florinda Saieva; 3) Hospitality and tourist reception coordinated by Viviana Buscemi: 4) Historic center and suburbs coordinated by Valeria Scavone.

Monte, also a theater director, participated in the technical table linked to creativity and cultural production.
The meeting served to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the territory, allowing the clear fact to emerge that the province of Agrigento does not have sufficient spaces to satisfy the needs of the various artistic realities operating in the territory. Another fact that emerges is the very strong presence of cultural associations and operators who prefer the performing arts to the visual ones.
The first of a series of meetings saw the participation of countless representatives of cultural, theatrical and tourist associations as well as local pro locos in the Agrigento area.
Appointment for a next operational meeting which will have to better detail the program of initiatives planned for 2025.
