850 students from Bergamo attended ACI courses for road safety

With the end of the school year, also theACI of Bergamo summarizes his activities with students, as he has done for years, with commitment in the field ofroad safety education. The starting and ending point is always the same: prevent by training and raising awareness to make people responsible for correct behaviour. It is an aspect on which we insist with motivated conviction, also in light of what happens on the roads, often due to imprudence and multiple infringements.

The initiatives of AC Bergamo, directed by the director Giuseppe PianuraThey were held from January 15th to May 28th; we will then leave again next September. There were 34 in-person courses held at the ACI Ready2go headquarters driving school and 850 students who took advantage of the opportunity, coming from the Paleocapa and Belotti technical institutes; Pesenti and Galli professional institutes; prof. tech. Caniana and Rigoni Stern agricultural institute.

The ACI of Bergamo has been consistently pressing the important button of responsibility, a fundamental factor for all road users and in particular for drivers of motor vehicles. “The Automobile Club Bergamo – points out the director Giuseppe Pianura – is the one that in Italy promotes the largest number of courses with the programs prepared by ACI and made available to ACs through the EDUSTRIDA portal. This is a project aimed at upper third year students, who are also close to obtaining a driving licence”.

In the morning, topics are addressed ranging from the growing risk of distraction, primarily mobile telephony and the internet, to vehicle safety, up to the consequences of alcohol and drug use. After a final test with questionnaire to fill outin the afternoon we continue with tests through the driving simulator and subsequent demonstration with specific exercises on the effects of alcohol and drug abuse.

“Every year, in the months of November-December – concludes director Pianura – around twenty students who have taken the courses and obtained their driving license with our driving school are chosen. They are offered a free full-day Safe Driving course at the ACI Center of the same name in Lainate, worth 400 euros. The students are accompanied by coach by our driving instructors Paola, Luca and Gabriele who, together with the Centre’s instructors, also accompany them to undertake the various theoretical and practical exercises held there”.
