Rifondazione Molfetta satisfied with the positive result of the “Peace Earth Dignity” list in the European elections
MOLFETTA – Rifondazione comments on the positive electoral result of the European elections in Molfetta: «About 500 votes equal to 2.71% is the result of the “Pace Terra Dignità” list in Molfetta, a figure higher than the provincial, regional and national average which confirms the rooting of the our club in the city. The national data represents, however, a positive reversal of trend compared to the data from the 2022 political elections and the 2019 European elections, within a general recovery of the left-wing forces. In short, with data in hand, there is hope that the cycle of vertical fall, which began in 2008, has ended. We also tried in Molfetta to bring the theme characterizing the list, that of PEACE, to the center of the city debate, which only in words it is shared by the entire political panorama. Sending weapons to Ukraine, as well as supporting the state of Israel and not recognizing the Palestinian state and the genocide of its people, effectively denies Peace and is what almost all Italian political forces still do. So, on the contrary, to those who say “If you want peace, prepare for war”, we, like the entire pacifist movement, say “If you want peace, prepare for peace”, as Enrico Berlinguer recalled. For this reason we will continue to work so that PEACE becomes central in the debate and for the growth of the pacifist movement in Italy and in the world. Finally, we would like to thank our voters and the militants, the sympathizers who once again supported the electoral campaign with great personal sacrifices in terms of time and money without any “sponsor”, starting from a crazy collection of signatures which the government forced us to do by changing the rules once the game had started.”
